Psychology behind anger

Psychology behind anger

People get angry because they choose to get angry. We all have certain standards that must be met in order for us to get angry. When those standards are met, we rationalize our decision to get angry. This rationalization makes us feel good that we are angry but what does it really mean?

It means that we have an emotional labelling issue. Emotional labelling is when we place specific adjectives on nouns because society has condition us to associate certain nouns with certain adjectives. This is a clear sign of emotional weakness.

To become a person who have control over their emotions, you must realize that nouns are nouns and adjectives are adjectives. For example, what is life? Most people may associate “life” with what they think it should be such as happy, easy, or convenient. Others may associate life with adjectives such as hard, challenging, or tough. In reality, life is just “life”.

Shakespeare once said, “Nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so.” And he was right. How we view a particular noun is completely up to us. Thus, when it comes to anger, we associate negative adjectives with specific nouns because we feel that we supposed to (given that is what society has taught us).

Typically, people get angry when they look at a situation in life for what they think it should be and not for what it actually is. Some things are what they are, not what you think it should be because it could be. Having the wrong perception of things can cause people to become delusional. And most people are immoderately delusional.

Too many people become angry daily. Too many people have a habit of embracing anger as if they are meant to be angry. Expressing anger too often manifests a lack of emotional control. However, expressing happiness too often also manifest a lack of emotional control. People should just be content and neutral on most days. It’s healthy to be happy some days and angry some days but we should have a tendency to be completely normal.
